X/twitter is becoming progressive less appealing to spend time on. I am trying to add more friction to using it by:
- use the Brick app on my phone to disable both the app as well as the website.
- On the laptop, I logout as soon as I feel bored, or I need to be off it. This introduces more friction to just opening a new tab and typing x.com.
I want to get more aggressive in “not interested in this” to clean up my feed.
I logged on to bluesky to see if I get a better signal to noise ratio on tech, because one of the main reasons I maintain a bluesky account is to follow many tech accounts that stopped using X in favour of bluesky. However, that site also attracts extremely opinionated anti-AI people which is also a turn off. I unfollowed more people today on bluesky than I followed.
