PACT is an idea from Tiny Experiments.
PACT is simply — I WILL [action] for [duration].
Purposeful, Actionable, Continuous, and Trackable over SMART.
Following are the PACTs i’m running.
- *I will train at Starting Strength Gyms twice a week
- This started on Aug 28, 2025 after I read the book 5am-club, and started getting up at 5am. But, it is one of the successes of the PACT even before I had a name for the concept. There is no doubt you cannot develop a regular workout habit without a PACT. Though, usually this tends to be an “open ended” quest with no end-date in mind. However, it makes sense to put a number (say, 100 ~ 1 year), and then recommit to it if it is working for you. As of Dec 1, 2025, I have only missed 1 session.
- **I will practice leetcode for 100 days. Starting Dec 1, 2025.
- I started practicing leetcode seriously in Nov 2025, for a tech job interview, while I was also reading the Tiny Experiments book. The trick with leetcode is that it is a learnable skill, but one that requires sustained effort, and something you can easily forget if you haven’t done it recently. Plus you are most confident of solving leetcode problems if you constantly test yourself with a clock. I’ll be tracking it here - Leetcode PACT
